In the days, weeks and months ahead, I plan to wax somewhat lyrical on the subject of ‘natural philosophy’, or what’s today termed ‘physics’ – in layman’s language since I’m a layperson too. Some of what I’m on about you won’t find in standard physics or metaphysics texts, though I trust I won’t stray too far into pseudoscience. My motto, adopted from a favourite TV show, is “Trust no one”, not even Nobel Prize winning physicists! As the relativity and quantum revolutions showed, Mother Nature still has a few surprises in store.
